Paper & Tissue

History

It was in 1929 that Hans Fleissner obtained his first through-air dryer patent. The innovative strength of our paper and tissue department is further illustrated by the HighTech Through Air Drum, developed in 1988 for the filter paper and tissue industries.

Together with customers, suppliers and other cooperation partners from the industry and research sectors, we are working on new technologies, thus continuously adding to the know-how of our products, processes and systems.

In our modern technical center we can demonstrate the entire process from melt polymers to finished nonwoven rolls at operating conditions. In addition, various machines for finishing of textiles and nonwovens are available for trials.

The dialog with our customers will ensure continued success for both sides.

Fleissner HighTech
TAD Drying Technology

Ever since Fleissner invented the Through Air Drying (TAD) technology more than seventy years ago, the company has been a synonym for leadership in drying technology with more than 45,000 drums shipped to satisfied customers in many industries.

The HighTech Through Air Dryer for paper and tissue has started another era of drying for tissue and paper as well as nonwovens and has become a well established product within the paper industry thanks to several decades of successful installations.

Integrity and reliability of all mechanical components are key factors for a paper machine. The Fleissner TAD Drum uses a patented bolted design avoiding welds that are sensitive to temperature.

The design of the dryer withstands high mechanical and thermal stresses allowing it to operate at high vacuum levels.

Due to the great depth of in-house fabrication we can apply the highest quality standards, resulting in outstanding availability of the products.

Excellent temperature and airflow uniformities across the working width are providing our customers with a superior product having high bulk and softness.

Drying on Fleissner machines guarantees economical production due to high production speeds and low specific consumption of thermal and electrical energy.

Typical applications

  • Tea bags
  • Wet-laid nonwovens
  • Filter papers
  • Tissue
  • Towels
  • Others, as long as material is
    air-permeable

Production of
Soft High-bulk Tissue
with TAD HighTech Drum

Contrary to conventional tissue drying on yankee cylinders, a combination of Through Air Drying and yankee drying or Through Air Drying only is used for production of tissue with softness, high bulk and high absorption.

The essential advantages of TAD tissue compared to conventional tissue are better product quality and fiber savings. Product costs are reduced.
