Textiles & Carpet

History

It was in 1929 that Hans Fleissner obtained his first through-air dryer patent. The innovative strength of our textile department is further illustrated by continuous dyeing and printing lines for carpet delivered for the first time in 1968, and raw wool scouring lines and thermosol dyeing lines developed in 1969.

The latest highlights are Total Easy Care antifelt finishing from 2001 and the TWIN dye liquor applicator from 2004.

Together with customers, suppliers and other cooperation partners from the industry and research sectors, we are working on new technologies, thus continuously adding to the know-how of our products, processes and systems.

In our modern technical center we can demonstrate the entire process from melt polymers to finished nonwoven rolls at operating conditions. In addition, various machines for finishing of textiles and nonwovens are available for trials.

The dialog with our customers will ensure continued success for both sides.

Continuous Processing Lines

With its engineering innovations and using the latest findings of research, engineering and environmental technology, Fleissner has reached a leading position in the world market in the field of textile high-performance lines.

One third of the world's production of sheep wool is scoured gently on Fleissner wool scouring lines. Nearly half of all anti-felt finishing lines were built by Fleissner.

More than 45,000 perforated drum units of various designs have been delivered to customers in the textile industry worldwide, including both standard solutions and tailormade systems to customers' requirements.

In addition to its own machinery and equipment, Fleissner today also supplies complete production lines incorporating technological and chemical know-how, and components from partner companies.

Raw Wool Scouring Line

Fleissner has set new standards in the wool industry with the development of the perforated drum raw wool scouring line.

The wool passes through the bowls without any relative movement with respect to transport elements as, for example, in conventional lines. It is transported instead on the surface of suction drums and penetrated by washing liquor during the process.

The same line components complemented by crushers and dedusters are used for wool carbonizing.

Main advantages:

  • Gentle treatment
  • No entanglement or felting
  • Top yield increased by up to 3.5 %
  • Staple length increased by up to 8 mm

Drying Line for
Bleached/Dyed Fibers

Depending on the feeding type of the bleached or dyed fibers, a combination of cake opener, hopper feeder and wet opener is used as opening and feeding assembly.

The opened fibers are fed to the perforated drum dryer as a uniform web. When combined with a dye padder, steamer and suction drum washing machine, the drying line can be turned into a continuous dyeing line.

Main advantages:

  • Gentle and thorough fiber opening
  • Uniform drying
  • High specific drying rates

Backwasher, Washing and
Drying Line for Slivers and Tow

Slivers of wool or synthetic fibers are treated on a backwasher after discontinuous dyeing or Vigoureux printing.

Unfixed dyestuff and auxiliary agents are washed out in the washing line to achieve optimum fastness values. The perforated drum dryer is used for energy-saving and gentle drying.

When combined with dye padder and steamer, the backwasher can be used as continuous dyeing line.

Main advantages:

  • Excellent washing results
due to the use of suction drums
  • Uniform drying effect and high specific drying rates
  • No intermingling of fibers by air flow

Anti-Felt Finishing of Wool Tops

Anti-felt finishing of wool allows production of knit goods and apparel that can be washed in household washing machines without felting.

Fleissner supplies equipment for various antifelt systems such as the chlorine-resin process, Dylan, Basolan and newly developed total Easy Care System-2.

Main advantages:

  • 2-step chlorination (System-2) for maximum chlorination uniformity
  • Suction drum principle ensures uniform neutralization and resin application
  • Prepared for Soft Lustre treatment
  • Uniform drying and resin curing

Thermosol Line

In the 1960s, Fleissner developed, together with former Farbwerke Hoechst/ Cassella, the perforated drum thermosol line for dyeing of polyester/cotton and polyester/ viscose blends.

The process and machine concept of this line makes it ideally suitable for dyeing 100% polyester.

Main advantages:

  • Extremely short heating-up
    periods of only 1-1.5 sec
  • High temperature uniformity of
    max. +/- 1.5 °C over the width at 230 °C
  • No edge-to-edge, edge-to-center or longitudinal shading

HT-SteamSet Heatsetting Line

Elastanes such as LycraŽ (Invista) and DorlastanŽ (Bayer) are increasingly used in the knit goods industry to obtain higher elasticity and improved wear performance for certain fabrics. The same applies to other fibers (e.g. polyester or polyamide) that can be heatset.

Fleissner has developed a line on the basis of the perforated drum dryer that sets new technological standards.

Main advantages:

  • No edge marks
  • No embrittlement or yellowing
  • Reduced crease formation
    during bleaching or dyeing
  • The twisting effect of fabrics containing elastane is avoided

Carpet Finishing Lines

Textile floor coverings for increased living comfort are preferred products over wooden, stone or ceramic floors.

Fleissner supplies both complete continuous lines for dyeing and printing of tufting carpets and equipment for modernization of existing lines.

The delivery program is completed by bonding lines for needle felt carpets.

Together with dyestuff suppliers and customers, we are constantly working on new processes and techniques.

Main advantages:

  • Dye liquor application without
pile contact to the pouring principle
  • Automatic rapid color change
    for minimum transition lengths
  • Optimum temperature distribution over length, width and height of steamer ensuring absolutely uniform dyeing
  • Two or three stage washing tower for thorough wash-off at a minimum water consumption
  • Circular stenter of new design for evaporation rates of approx. 100 kg water/hour per m˛ of covered drum surface
